We’ve launched Booking Limits & Benefit Limits on Nettla, giving operators precise control over how much court time players can book. One flexible rules engine now handles two jobs: capping usage fairly across your whole membership base, and defining the boundary of a specific cohort’s pricing benefit.
How it works
- Set a booking limit that applies to all players — a hard cap that blocks further bookings once a player hits their allowance (e.g. 180 minutes per week)
- Set a benefit limit for a specific cohort (e.g. Gold Members) that marks the edge of their discounted rate — once exceeded, they can still book, just at the standard price
- Restrict any rule to specific days and time windows, such as peak evenings or weekends only, leaving off-peak hours unrestricted
- Scope rules to particular booking types (court bookings, matches, activities, private coaching) and to specific courts
- Layer multiple rules at once across different cohorts, courts, sports, and time windows — Nettla automatically applies whichever rule is relevant to each booking
Why this feature matters
Court time is one of the most valuable and contested resources at any club. Booking Limits & Benefit Limits gives operators a single tool to manage that resource fairly, without forcing a trade-off between protecting availability and rewarding loyal members.
Because rules can be combined by cohort, court, sport, and time of day, clubs can model their real pricing and access policies precisely — from simple weekly caps to layered peak-hour restrictions — without any manual tracking or extra admin work.
Examples
- A tennis club gives Gold Members 300 minutes a week at member rates. Once they exceed that, they can keep booking, just at standard pricing — while everyone else is capped at 180 minutes a week to keep courts available for all members.
- A padel and pickleball facility wants to protect its busiest indoor courts. It sets a 90-minute weekly limit on padel courts only, active Monday–Friday 5–9pm, leaving mornings, weekends, and other courts completely open.
