Admins can now set the maximum level a new player is allowed to assign themselves when they first create their profile. It’s a simple setting that helps clubs keep starting levels realistic and stops new players from rating themselves too high before they’ve played a single match.
How it works
- Set a maximum self-assessment level from your club’s match settings — for example 3.00 or 3.50
- Applies to new players who have your club as their home club and don’t yet have a level
- Those players can choose any level up to the maximum you’ve set, but no higher
- Levels can still rise above the cap over time through match results and coach or admin adjustments
- Change the setting at any time as your club’s needs evolve
Why this feature matters
When players assess their own level for the first time, a few tend to aim high — which throws off matchmaking and creates uneven matches for everyone involved. By setting a sensible ceiling, clubs keep starting points reasonable and give the level algorithm a more accurate foundation to build on. Better starting levels mean fairer matches, smoother matchmaking, and a more enjoyable experience from a player’s very first game.
